About the role 🤓

We are looking for a seasoned Accountant with experience in all aspects of accounting to join our Finance team. In this position, you will play a key role in preparing financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax obligations, and other related financial activities. Experience with NetSuite is critical for this role. You will perform general accounting and ensure our financial records are accurate and insightful. If you enjoy digging into data, improving processes, and collaborating with others to solve problems, this role is for you.

Job requirements

What challenges you'll be solving 🚀

  • Oversee and lead all accounting operations across multiple entities and geographies (EU and beyond), ensuring excellence in financial reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory adherence.

  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by compiling, verifying, analyzing, and accurately recording asset, liability, revenue, and expense transactions.

  • Lead month-end closing activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, performing reconciliations, and accurately recording all income and expenses.

  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheets, P&L statements, and other financial reports.

  • Prepare and consolidate financial statements across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accurate reporting for entities operating in various countries.

  • Oversee payroll accounting and coordinate with HR to ensure accurate monthly compensation recording.

  • Calculate, record, and analyze default provisions for expected credit losses within the consumer lending portfolio.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly tax provisions (e.g., VAT, corporate income tax) and provide necessary data to external tax advisors. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with filings and statutory accounts.

  • Proactively maintain internal controls, suggest improvements, and uphold high compliance standards with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with FP&A, Treasury, Operations, and Tech teams to clearly communicate the financial implications of business decisions.

  • Take ownership of accounting processes, continuously improving their efficiency and scalability. Suggest and implement solutions to automate reconciliations, optimize NetSuite usage, and enhance project cost tracking, supporting the company's growing operations.

What you’ll need 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is highly preferred.

  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience. Experience in fintech, lending, or financial services is a plus.

  • NetSuite proficiency is mandatory (at least 2+ years). You must be able to navigate the system confidently, run reports, and leverage/optimize its functionalities. 

  • Strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP and IFRS and core accounting principles. Proven expertise in managing general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting.

  • Advanced Excel skills are required (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)

  • Analytical and curious. You enjoy diving into financial data to identify trends, investigate anomalies, perform variance analysis, and synthesize findings for stakeholders.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and spoken), with a strong ability to clearly communicate financial information and collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Have a hands-on, proactive attitude. You take ownership of your responsibilities and hold yourself accountable for delivering accurate work on time.
