About the role 🤓
We are looking for a Senior Legal Product Counsel experienced in commercial law, and with experience navigating multiple jurisdictions. This role requires versatility, the ability to manage legal frameworks across different markets, and a deep understanding of consumer protection and financial regulation with a keen interest in digital and product-related issues. Experience in data privacy is a plus.
As a key partner to our business, product, and tech teams, you will help design compliant, business-friendly solutions that support seQura’s growth across diverse regulatory landscapes. Job requirements
What challenges you'll be solving 🚀
Support the negotiation of strategic global deals with our partners to support seQura’s products.
Review upcoming projects to check compliance with the legal framework governing payment services and schemes.
Negotiate and supervise agreements with banking and third-party payment services providers.
Anticipate and assess regulatory changes to guide product strategy and ensure compliance.
Evaluate and mitigate regulatory risks across global markets, aligning compliance strategies with SeQura’s growth and product roadmap.
Participate together with product and tech teams in the design and commercial launch of new products and services in light of the applicable local consumer protection regulations.
Review and update the operational and commercial processes of the company from a legal perspective, aligning processes, helping stakeholders to drive decisions, and reducing complexity.
Contribute to ongoing innovation projects.
Coordinate external legal counsels, including local law firms in each jurisdiction in which seQura has business relationships.

What you’ll need 🫱🏼🫲🏽
Education: Law degree in any EU jurisdiction (preferably Spain or Germany).
Experience: 8+ years in a top-tier law firm or as in-house counsel in a B2C fast-growing tech startup/scale-up.
Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English (verbal and written). German is a strong plus.
Very strong negotiation and legal drafting skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
International profile, able to work in a flexible, collaborative, and multidisciplinary environment
In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks in financial and consumer services. Experience in data privacy or in financing products is a strong plus.
Results-oriented mindset with commercial awareness and the ability to balance legal risks and business goals.
Ability to anticipate and address issues proactively.
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, solution-driven approach.
Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Good business judgment, entrepreneurial spirit, innovative and customer-oriented.
