About optiQa

optiQa is seQura's latest project: a subscription model for eyewear, uniquely positioned with deep industry expertise and a ready-to-implement software platform. Combining technology, payment solutions, and financing, it is the only full-service solution for eyewear retailers seeking to implement subscription models. optiQa has proven its success in the Spanish market since Q2 2024, generating hundreds of subscriptions for multiple merchants. Now, we are ready to roll out optiQa internationally.

About the role 🤓

We are seeking a Senior Legal Product Counsel with a strong interest in digital products and regulatory frameworks. This role is ideal for an innovative, detail-oriented, and hands-on legal professional ready to tackle a growing project with international expansion. As part of seQura's Legal team, you will drive the legal and regulatory expansion of optiQa into key markets, starting with Germany and the United States.

What Challenges You'll Be Solving 🚀

• Drive international expansion: Provide comprehensive legal and regulatory support for optiQa’s global growth strategy.

• Contract management: Review, draft, analyze, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including SaaS, financing, and general service contracts with optical retailers, as well as consumer agreements.

• Problem solving: Roll up your sleeves to proactively identify challenges and implement effective solutions.

• Collaborative growth: Work closely with cross-functional teams in a supportive environment that fosters learning, development, and making a real impact.

• Operational support: Provide legal guidance to local customer care and payment teams, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

• Regulatory compliance: Advise on evolving regulatory requirements in areas such as privacy, consumer protection, healthcare, and financial services.

• Local oversight: Coordinate local reporting and regulatory filings for optiQa subsidiaries in collaboration with external providers.

• Strategic advisory: Act as a key legal partner for new initiatives driven by business and product teams, ensuring compliance from product design to commercial launch.

• External collaboration: Oversee and collaborate with local law firms across various markets to ensure seamless legal support.

What you’ll need 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

• Education: Law degree in any EU jurisdiction (preferably Spain or Germany) or the United States.

• Experience: 8+ years in a top-tier law firm or as in-house counsel in a fast-growing tech startup/scale-up.

• Languages: Proficiency in German and English (verbal and written). Spanish is a strong plus.

• Strong negotiation and legal drafting skills.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly to stakeholders at all levels.

• International profile, able to work in a flexible, collaborative, and multidisciplinary environment

• In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks in healthcare, financial, and consumer services. Experience in data privacy is a plus.

• Results-oriented mindset with commercial awareness and the ability to balance legal risks and business goals.

• Ability to anticipate and address issues proactively.

• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, solution-driven approach.

• Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
