About seQura

seQura provides innovative, flexible and easy-to-use payment technologies that help merchants acquire, convert and retain more customers.

We make a difference in sales performance by tailoring our solutions to different sectors, to address their unique pain points and deliver superior results in Retail, Education, Eyewear, Repairs and Travel.

We also empower smart shopping to consumers who seek more value, convenience, and flexibility in their shopping, with new payment experiences that allow them to save, access interest-free credit, or pay in small, comfortable installments of up to 24 months.

Born in Barcelona, seQura is a privately-owned fintech, currently expanding throughout southern Europe and Latin America, growing above 50% CAGR.
Over 6000 businesses, almost 3 million shoppers, and almost 400 employees continue to rate us as one of the most loved and trusted fintechs out there, with an NPS of 87%, a Trustpilot rating of 4.7/5, and a Glassdoor rating of 4.1/5.

About the role 🤓

We are entering a new stage in how People Operations works at seQura, and we are looking for someone senior to lead that evolution.

As the company grows, People Operations needs to become more structured, visible and scalable, with stronger governance across payroll, compliance, systems, data and employee lifecycle processes. We are looking for a hands-on People Operations, Governance & AI Lead who can build the operating model for this next stage.

You will work with the Head of People and lead a team of two. Your role will be to create clearer ownership, stronger payroll controls, better compliance governance, more reliable workflows and a trusted bridge with Legal, Finance, Compliance and external advisors.

This is not a role where you simply maintain existing processes. You will join with a clear mandate to build stronger foundations, improve visibility and create reliable ways of working, while keeping the day-to-day running smoothly.

Solid experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms is essential. Experience with HiBob and A3/Innuva is highly valued, as these are key systems in our current setup, but we are looking above all for someone who has connected systems, data, payroll and compliance workflows before and can get up to speed quickly.

Job requirements

What challenges you'll be solving 🚀

  • Build the next version of People Operations at seQura: more structured, more visible, more scalable and better connected with the business.

  • Lead, coach and coordinate the Payroll and Compliance / People Ops team, creating clarity on ownership, priorities, quality standards and escalation paths.

  • Strengthen payroll governance across inputs, checks, approvals, documentation, monthly controls and collaboration with Finance and external advisors.

  • Improve the operational connection between HRIS, payroll systems and employee data, ensuring that contractual changes, payroll inputs, payroll outputs and reporting are accurate, traceable and scalable.

  • Improve People Ops workflows across the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, internal changes, leaves, benefits, documentation, offboarding and employee data changes.

  • Create stronger service standards and SLAs for People Ops requests, ensuring speed, accuracy and a good employee and manager experience.

  • Lead the People compliance operating model in partnership with Legal, Finance, Compliance and external labour advisors.

  • Prepare the People function for increasing compliance obligations, including salary transparency, equality and non-discrimination obligations, audit readiness, documentation standards and internal governance.

  • Own People systems governance and data quality, with particular focus on HiBob, A3/Innuva and the workflows connected to them.

  • Identify manual work, duplicated effort and recurring friction points, then turn them into simpler, more scalable processes.

  • Use AI and automation to redesign People Operations workflows, reduce manual work and improve capacity without weakening controls.

  • Build simple, reliable dashboards, reports or data routines that help the People team and managers make better decisions.

  • Create practical documentation, playbooks, checklists and controls so the function does not depend on individual knowledge.

  • Prepare People Operations for potential multi-entity, multi-country or EOR complexity as the company evolves.

What you'll need 🤝

  • 8+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, Payroll Operations, People Governance or similar roles.

  • Strong hands-on experience owning core People Ops processes, including employee lifecycle, HRIS, payroll operations, compliance, employee data, policies and internal workflows.

  • Solid experience with HRIS and payroll systems, including how employee data, contractual changes, payroll inputs, payroll outputs, reporting and compliance workflows connect across systems.

  • Experience with HiBob and A3/Innuva is highly valued.

  • Strong knowledge of Spanish and/or European People compliance, ideally including areas such as Equality Plans, salary register, remuneration audits, pay transparency readiness, LGTBI measures, working time, remote work, PRL, payroll compliance, inspections and labour documentation.

  • Experience improving payroll governance, including monthly routines, input validation, controls, documentation, issue tracking and collaboration with Finance or external payroll advisors.

  • Experience leading, managing or mentoring People Ops, Payroll, Compliance or HR Operations team members.

  • Proven experience building or scaling People Operations processes in a fast-growing company, ideally within a 300-800+ employee environment.

  • Experience working in regulated, audited or compliance-sensitive environments. Fintech, payments, financial services, insurance, lending, healthtech or another highly controlled industry would be a plus.

  • Strong ability to work with Legal, Finance, Compliance, external labour advisors and managers on sensitive or high-accuracy topics.

  • Strong process design mindset, with a bias toward clear documentation, controls, ownership, reporting and continuous improvement.

  • Curiosity about AI and automation, with good judgment about where technology helps and where human oversight matters.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.

Nice to have

  • Experience in fintech, payments, financial services or another regulated environment.

  • Experience working in multi-entity, multi-country or international People Operations environments.

  • Experience working with EORs, external payroll providers, labour advisors, PRL providers or immigration partners.

  • Experience preparing People teams for audits, due diligence, salary transparency, equality plans, mobility plans or stronger compliance requirements.

  • Experience implementing or redesigning HRIS workflows, reporting routines or AI-enabled People Ops automations.
